fish hook remover

today, we are out inshore fishing and we'vecaught a spotted seatrout. now, this trout is undersized, so we can'tharvest it. so the best thing to do is we know that thisfish has to go back, is to avoid touching it so it has a better chance of survival. one way to do that is to use a dehooking devicelike this. when i use this device, i don't have to touchthe fish at all to remove the hook from the fish's mouth. all i have to do is hold the line, grab thehook, lift up, and let gravity take the hook out of the fish's mouth. that way i don't touch the fish and it hasa much better chance of survival to go grow up and maybe get caught another day.

please find this product at http://absupply.net/this video is to bring you a closer look at the trimco 3070-1 coat & hat hook in a 626satin chrome finish. 626 specifically means that its a solid brass base material witha satin chrome finish. comes with two screws. those are steel based, which is not necessarilya bad thing. you don't want to unintentionally strip the screws out, so two screws. coatand hat hook, very typical item that you're going to see in residential and commercialapplications. there is a link below the video to the cut sheet, which shows everything importantdimensionally about this coat and hat hook. before we go over that, available in severaldifferent finishes, you can see them there. satin chrome is certainly very common. 2-15/16overall projection, that is indeed the case. width of the base, trimco has it at 1-7/16,that looks accurate as well. projection of the bottom side, the hat side 1-3/4", thatwould be correct as well. overall height, kind

fish hook barb

...crimp the, i forgot to crimp the, the barb on that, so i better do that right now. yeah. sport fishing, you need to crimp it, right? all fishing now. all fishing? even the commercial guys. oh yeah. actually it started with the commercial guys, and it was so successful, there were so few fish lost. yeah. that the fo realized that everybody should be crimping the hook. right. it saves, it saves fish, and it doesn't really lose fish. right. now what i've just done is, a barb.... you clipped the barb off. if i can find a hook here that....yeah. okay, there's a barb right there. yeah. that sticks out, and if you get caught with that, you get 150 dollar fine. right. so we have to take those off. and we take them off by crimping them with the vice grips.yeah. and you just pull that barb into the shaft. now there's nothing there. yeah. there's absolutely nothing that can get caught on that. yeah. my finger would be ripped to shreds if it was a real barb. yeah. so t

you know, i like a lot of youi'm sure you feel the same way, sometimes i wish there were morehours in the day. if there were i'm sure i woulduse them to figure out why the earth's rotation was suddenlyslower. but i would also use that timeto get really informed about the news. i don't have that time, all thetime. so instead, this is stephencolbert's hot takes. first off, a disclaimer, my hottakes are right out of the oven so i can't be responsible forhow poorly thought out my opinions are. fish flasher

i'm dave at mako spearguns and todaywe're talking about making your hunt even more successful with the flasherball fish flashers and throw flasher. there area lot of different ways to rig flashers a lot of it comes down to personalpreference and what works for you in your environment. a great startingpoint is to rig your flashers about two feet apart, tuning the lengthmore or less depending on the clarity the water you're diving in and thebrightness of the sun. we like to add a small weight to the topof the string of flashers to help get the flashers is down but it doesn't dampen the action thatcreates those great light flashes as they dance in the water. for easy let out and retrieval hook yourstring of lashes to the utility reel and you're ready to go. or checkout the flasher float that not only makes let out andretrieval a snap but also makes it easy to store your flasher rig when not in use. for even more lightaction add the flasher ball to the bottom ofyour

it is a dream of mankindto fly like a bird. birds are very agile. they fly, not with rotating components, so they fly only by flapping their wings. so we looked at the birds, and we tried to make a modelthat is powerful, ultralight, and it must have excellentaerodynamic qualities that would fly by its ownand only by flapping its wings. so what would be better than to usethe herring gull, in its freedom, circling and swooping over the sea, and to use this as a role model? so we bring a team together. there are generalists and also specialistsin the field of aerodynamics, in the field of building gliders. and the task was to buildan ultralight indoor-flying model that is able to fly over your heads. so be careful later on. (laughter) and this was one issue: to build it that lightweight that no one would be hurt if it fell down. so why do we do all this? we are a companyin the field of automation, and we'd like to dovery lightweight structures because that's energy efficient,

[thomson:] it was decemberthe 22nd, 1938. on this hot, december dayin east london south africa, a trawler came into townand deposited its load of fish. and the trawler captain had a habit of keepingany odd-looking interesting specimens and giving them to the curatorof the local museum, marjorie courtenay latimer. [weinberg:] she loved nature so much, and she wanted to makethe museum's collections the best they possibly could be, and so she went down to the harbor-side. she described picking throughthis big pile of slimy fish and eels, and then suddenly she saw, poking up,this sort of strange, blue fin. fish catching

one of the nice things about panfishing is that you don't have to spend a lot of money. a lot of sporting goods stores have rod and reel combos for as little as$20 and there nothing special but they work fine for fishing for panfish. but if you are even more frugal than thatbut you can actually catch a fish without a rod and reel - you can just use along stick or, like i'm going to show this morning, you can even use a pop can. first i need to get the proper amount offishing line. i have some 4 pound test here that i'm goingto use and i'd like it about 12 feet long sowhat i'm going to do is measure by stretching on my arms one to each side, and just get about three times that length that should be about right for what iwant to do today now i'm gonna tie the end of the line to thetab of the pop can. i'll probably use an improved clinch knot to do that but itdoesn't really matter what knot you use here. ok, now i have it tied on now i'm going to

hey everyone! ocean conservation and marinelife expert jaclyn friedlander here and today we are going to talk about betta fish! these low maintenance fish are often keptas pets by people of all ages. while they are often found in homes since they can toleratepoor water quality of varying temperatures and small tanks, they were originally discoveredin south east asia. they are often called siamese fighting fishand this name came from the olden days in thailand when fish fighting was popular. sopopular in fact, that the king of siam had the sport regulated and taxed. it is a common misconception that the rootsof a plant in the same vase will sustain betta fish, but that is 100% false. betta fish pelletsare the best choice of food for pet bettas as they are carnivores or in other words, meat eaters and betta pellets provide a nice combination of brine shrimp, blood worms andvitamins. another common misconception is that bettafish need sunlight. putting a betta in sunlight is harmful fo
