>> hi there, everybody. we have a special event coming up in a month from now, we're sure you're familiar with, but trying to recruit some members.
we're going to talk about the penguin plunge and special olympics. first of all, you're here to
make something kind of special that has to do with the theme of this year's penguins plunge. >> sure, this is our 9th annual high school plunge and we're excited about the theme. as you can see based on what we have here, our theme is under the sea.
>> under the sea, got it. >> we're putting together nice octopus cupcakes and fish cupcakes. so, eric and i are going to walk you through how to make those. >> how do we do it. >> great. with the octopus you can buy
store bought cupcakes or make them yourself at home, but go ahead and-- ments no one would trust me to do that. >> so just apply blue frosting and eric will start to build the ac act--
octopus. if you want to walk us through that. >> what have you go the -- got for the octopus? >> gumdrop or a head and then we have gummy worms. >> gummy worms, ok. >> for the legs.
>> for the legs of our octopus right there. >> so eric, you work here in town and o you've done the penguin plunge, how many times? >> seven times. >> no kidding. you've got a team to support
you. can you talk about that? >> basically just going out there and ask people t join my team, before i did that, i actually asked people t-- . kind of give you a hand? >> give some mon for me as
we and start out just go i having me some money. >> sure. so you're raising money for-- >> sure, so special olympics new hampshire is all throughout new hampshire. we have over 3200 athletes throughout the state
participating in over 21 sports yearround. so ultimately the penguin plunge is our largest fundraiser and largest event. without the event we would not be able to offer sports programming and competition to have athletes just like eric
experience the joy through special olympics. >> if someone says, hey, i want to participate or give donations. >> our website iswww.snoh.org and you can found out about the different plunging events we have and different ways to
register. most importantly, the event is so fun. you might be scared to jump into the water. >> understandable. >> eric seven times, just super impressive and you can dip your toe in.
you can go all the way under if you like and even if you want to support our cause and athletes like eric, you can be a pampered penguin. you can participate in the event, receive the benefits of the event, but actually not go in the water and not get wet.
>> i know our weather guys jump in. a great cause every year. it's held on february 4th and 5th and we're looking for participants to jump in the water, but you don't have to jump in if you don't want to. >> it's a great way to cross
something off of our bucket list and it's definitely one of the must-see or must-do events here in new hampshire in the winters. >> again, website is for people who want information? >>www.snoh.org. >> these are great under the sea themed cupcakes for the event.
this is chelsea gill and eri ratel.
